When a patient is referred here by a physician for an oral appliance, the first thing we do is to get a copy of the Polysomnogram from where the sleep study was done in order to better understand your problem.  The first visit is a very thorough consultation during which you will be shown many of the actual appliances that are available today.  It is very helpful to see them first hand rather than just a picture.

Choosing and fitting the right appliance is one of the reasons you have been referred to see Dr. Chernick.  He is Credentialed by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine in Oral Appliance Therapy and has attained Diplomate status by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
